On Friday evening, a number of matches were held in the ninth round of the Euro 2024 qualifiers, which resulted in the Danish and Albanian teams ensuring their presence in the competition scheduled to be held in German territory next June.

The Danish national team defeated its closest rival, Slovenia, by two goals to one, while Albania tied with the Moldova national team, with one goal each.

The Italian national team is close to qualifying for the Euro after defeating North Macedonia 5-2 at the Olympico, so it needs to emerge with a draw from facing Ukraine in the next round to ensure that it will accompany England to Germany.

As for the Poland national team, in an unexpected surprise, its chances of reaching Euro 2024 ended after a 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic in the last match of Robert Lewandowski’s team in the qualifiers, and the other card with Albania from this group remains pending between the Czech Republic and Moldova.

Some other matches were also held on Friday evening, as England won 2-0 over Malta at Wembley Stadium, Finland defeated Northern Ireland 4-0, and Kazakhstan won 3-1 over San Marino.

It is noteworthy that two teams from each group qualify directly for Euro 2024, while a play-off will be played next March to determine the identity of 4 other teams that qualify, based on their participation in the European Nations League.
