Despite Saudi's interest, Inter confirms that Lautaro Martinez is close to renewing his contract

Inter CEO Pepe Marotta confirmed that negotiations between his club and Lautaro Martinez are ongoing and progressing positively in order to extend his stay at San Siro for an additional two years.

Lautaro's contract with Inter expires in the summer of 2026, and he is receiving interest from many European clubs, while news has emerged that he is the focus of interest from the Saudi club Al-Ittihad, which is preparing to give him a historic offer in the winter.

Initial conversations indicated that the federation might offer 160 million euros to Inter to buy Lautaro, in addition to a salary of up to 200 million euros annually for the Argentine star.

Despite all this confusion, Marotta stressed that the most likely thing is for Lautaro to continue with the Nerazzurri. Speaking to the media, he said, “We are in talks with Lautaro and his agent to renew the contract. We are very calm.”

He also added, "I believe that there is nothing hindering the negotiations. Lautaro wants to stay with us and negotiations are ongoing between the two parties."

Lautaro, 26, joined Inter in the summer of 2018 from Argentine Racing for 25 million euros.

During his career with Inter, he scored 117 goals in 255 matches, winning the Italian League title once and the Italian Cup twice, in addition to another Italian Super Cup title.

This season, Lautaro participated in 17 matches in all tournaments, during which he scored 15 goals and assisted two others.
