The draw for the group stage of the 2024 Copa America competition, which is scheduled to be held in the United States of America, was drawn at dawn on Friday.
The draw was not kind to the defending champion, Argentina, after it dropped them into one group with Peru and Chile, along with the team that qualified from the CONCACAF playoff between Canada and Trinidad and Tobago.
The draw for the Brazilian national team was also difficult, but to a lesser extent, as the Samba country came in a group that included Colombia, Paraguay, and the CONCACAF play-off qualifier between Honduras and Costa Rica.
It remains to be noted that Copa America will start on June 24, 2024, with the participation of 16 teams in an exceptional edition that will witness the participation of a number of North American teams.
