Good news for Al-Nassr... The Copa Libertadores final referee runs the Riyadh derby

Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported that Colombian referee Wilmar Roldan will officiate the Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr match in the Saudi League next Friday.

Roldan is considered one of the most prominent referees in South America and the world in the last two years, and nothing is more evident than the fact that he officiated the match between Fluminense and Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final at the beginning of this November.

The Colombian holds a good memory for Saudi fans, as he was the one who officiated the match between the Saudi national team and Egypt in the 2018 World Cup, which ended with the “Green” team winning 2-1.

As for Al-Nassr, Roldan may be a good omen, as he previously officiated one match for Al-Alami, which was against Al-Raed last September, and then Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammates succeeded in winning 3-1.

Wilmar Roldan has never led a match for Al Hilal in the Saudi League or the King’s Cup.

In general, Roldan has officiated many important matches in the past decade, such as the 2015 Copa America final and the 2014 Copa Libertadores final, as well as participating in the 2018 World Cups.

It is noteworthy that Al-Hilal leads the Saudi League standings with 37 points, 4 points behind Al-Nassr, before the Riyadh derby scheduled to be held at King Fahd International Stadium.
