Hussein El-Shahat enters Arab history and achieves Benzema's historic number!

Hussein El-Shahat’s goal in Al-Ahly’s broad victory over Al-Ittihad in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup was not ordinary, but rather included in a list that includes Arab and international legends.

El-Shahat scored the second goal for Al-Ahly in the 58th minute with a wonderful rebound and shot, before Imam Ashour scored the third goal in the match that ended 3-1 for the Marcel Koller battalion.

El-Shahat's goal is his fourth in the Club World Cup, and thus he is equal to Salem Al-Dosari and Mohamed Aboutrika and becomes the all-time top scorer for Arab players in the World Cup.

The former Al Ain player still has the opportunity to become the top scorer in the World Cup if he succeeds in scoring one goal, whether in the semi-finals, the final, or the match for third and fourth places.

At the same time, El Shahat achieved the same feat as Karim Benzema, by scoring in 4 different editions of the Club World Cup.

El-Shahat’s first goal was with Al-Ain in the 2018 edition, then he scored with Al-Ahly in the 2021 and 2022 editions, and now he scores in the 2023 edition in Saudi Arabia.
