In preparation to take over Ittihad? Al Ain announces the departure of Schreuder

In a surprise, Al Ain Club announced the departure of its coach Alfred Schreuder from coaching the team by agreement between the two parties.

In his statement, Al Ain explained the decision to terminate the Dutch coach's contract by what he called "the incompatibility of him an his assistant staff with the company's institutional work system".

The strange thing about Schreuder’s departure due to the lack of harmony is that what appears on the pitch is completely different, as Al Ain are in third place in the UAE league, only two points behind Al Wasl and Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, and they are also the first to reach the round of 16 of the 2024 AFC Champions League.

The departure of the former Ajax coach comes a few hours after Saudi reports that the federation wants to sign the Dutchman to succeed Nuno Santo in charge of the Jeddah Tigers.

Nuno Santo was sacked late on Tuesday, with Hassan Khalifa taking over as interim coach until a new coach is hired.

After his last match between Al Ain and Al Fayhaa at the UAE club, Schreuder confirmed that the news circulating about his training at Al Ittihad is untrue.
