Infantino announces 2034 World Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia

FIFA President Gianni Infantio announced that the 2034 World Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia.

The past hours have seen Australia confirm its withdrawal from the competition to organize the 2034 World Cup on the last days of receiving applications to host World Cup, so that the Saudi file is the only one on the table of "FIFA".

Gianni Infantino posted a photo of himself holding the World Cup in a post on his Instagram account that read: "The greatest parade on earth by Canada, Mexico and the United States will be held in 2026 on the North American continent."

"The next two World Cups will be played in Africa (Morocco) and Europe (Portugal and Spain), with three festive matches in South America (Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay) in 2030, and in Asia (Saudi Arabia) in 2034," he added.

"So there will be three editions in 5 continents and 10 countries, and that's what makes football truly universal."

Saudi Arabia will be the third Arab country in history to receive World Cup after Qatar 2022 and Morocco (along with Spain and Portugal) in 2030, and it is also the fourth Asian country to receive this event after South Korea, Japan in 2002 and Qatar in the last edition.
