The Milan management decided to renew confidence in coach Stefano Pioli despite the decline in results this season, and the Italian club refuses, at least this month, to dismiss those who brought it back to local glory again.

Milan tied 2-2 with the bottom of the Italian League, Salernitana, last Friday, sparking a great wave of anger towards the coach, with many calls for his dismissal.

Milan bid farewell to the Champions League in the group stage and moved to the Europa League. It also occupies third place in the Italian League, a full 11 points behind leaders Inter.

Despite the decline in levels and results, the Milan administration wants Pioli to remain in his position at least until the end of the season, according to what was confirmed by the newspaper “Gazzetta dello Sport”.

In the worst case, Pioli's dismissal will not happen before next February in the event of a collapse in results. Otherwise, being in the top four of Calcio has become Milan's goal this season, which the coach seems to be already successfully achieving, so there is no need to dismiss him before the end of the season.

At the same time, the name of the famous coach Antonio Conte is the most likely to succeed Pioli in Milan, but this entails some obstacles, most notably his huge salary and his demand for large guarantees regarding the conclusion of huge contracts in the summer.

One of the names also being discussed at San Siro is current Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi, as well as the possibility of Milan youth coach Ignazio Abate stepping up to succeed Pioli.
