Napoli head to sack Rudi Garcia after loss to Empoli

Coach Rudi Garcia

Napoli's management is heading to sack coach Rudi Garcia after the southern Italian club's shock 1-0 loss to Empoli.

Prior to this match, Empoli were in penultimate place with only two victories, as well as the meeting was being played at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium, the home of Napoli, but the team suffered an unexpected defeat.

Not only is Empoli's loss the only setback for Napoli, but the team also drew with Union Berlin in the Champions League 1-1 at the Diego Armando Mardona Stadium, while the German club is struggling and has not won since last September.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Napoli management has begun to consult on Garcia's dismissal, especially since it is not the first time this season that the team has suffered from poor performance and results.

The decision will be as usual in the hands of Aurelio De Laurentiis of the Italian club, who left the Empoli match stadium with the whistle blown and signs of anger visible on his face.

Garcia took over from Luciano Spalletti, who led the blue team to the historic Serie A title last season.

But in his first months, things did not go well with the former Al Nassr coach, as he suffered from problems with a number of players, led by the duo of Victor Osimhen and Khvica Kvaratskhelia.

The Frenchman has led Napoli in 16 matches, 12 of them in Serie A, winning 6, losing 3 and drawing 3, and 4 in the Champions League where he won just two, drew one and lost one to Real Madrid.

Napoli are fourth in the Serie A standings after 12 rounds and have 21 points, 8 points behind current leaders Juventus.
