Neymar receives a new shock

The Brazilian national team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, announced that Neymar will not participate with his country in the 2024 Copa America due to injury.

The Saudi Al Hilal star suffered a cruciate ligament tear last October, as a result of which his season ended.

Neymar's first goal was to recover quickly and join the Copa America next summer, but Lasmar confirmed that this was impossible.

The Brazilian doctor said in press statements, "It is too early for him to return before Cuba. He cannot pass any of the recovery stages."

He also added, "Our expectations are that Neymar will be ready to return to football in August 2024."

Brazil is in a difficult group with Paraguay, Colombia and another team to be determined later in the CONCACAF qualifiers.

The 2024 Copa America competition is scheduled to begin in its exceptional edition in the United States next June.
