Neymar undergoes a successful surgery and reassures Al Hilal fans

Al Hilal's Neymar da Silva underwent successful knee surgery on Thursday night and went out to fans around the world to reassure them that things went as hoped.

During the Brazil-Uruguay match in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Neymar suffered a cut in the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus, and the date of his surgery was relatively delayed due to differences between Al-Hilal and the Brazilian Federation over the name of the treating doctor.

Eventually, Neymar preferred the doctor of Brazil, and he performed the surgery with the doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, who told the media after the 4-hour operation, "It was a successful surgery, we are satisfied with the results, now he will stay in the hospital for 24 hours or 48 hours depending on his clinical development."

As for Neymar, he wrote on his official Instagram account: "It went well. Thanks for the messages. Now I'm focused on recovery."

The duration of Neymar's absence from the stadiums remains indefinite, and his doctor refused to give a specific date for that now, although in the best case he will return after 8 months, and in the worst case the absence may extend for 10 months.

The 31-year-old is battling time to join the 2024 Copa America, which is scheduled to be held in July in the United States.

It is noteworthy that Neymar missed the beginning of this year 6 months due to injury, during which he joined Al Hilal Saudi Arabia for 90 million euros from Paris Saint-Germain, but he played only 5 games in the blue shirt, and was injured and ended his season early.
