Paolo Maldini .. the latest to join the Saudi League

Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Paolo Maldini is also on his way to work in the Saudi league in the coming period.

The Italian football legend used to serve as Milan's technical director, but was sacked earlier last year.

According to Romano, Al Ittihad has expressed interest in signing Maldini to be the club's director, and negotiations between the two parties are currently ongoing.

Al-Ittihad sacked coach Nuno Santo for poor results, and is looking for a restructuring of its team in light of the great financial capabilities provided by the Saudi Investment Fund, and the beginning will be the appointment of a sports director responsible for contracts and planning for the team.

Maldini's name seems attractive to the Saudi club given his exceptional experience with Milan, where he succeeded in returning the team to the podium after struggling with several crises in the past decade.

It is noteworthy that Al-Ittihad won the Saudi League title last season for the first time since 2009, and is preparing to participate in the 2023 Club World Cup in Jeddah next December.
