Reports: Al Ahli decides to get rid of Firmino in January!

Updated: Dec 11, 2023

Firmino is not performing as expected with Al-Ahly Saudi Arabia

The Kooora website reported that the management of the Saudi Al-Ahli Club decided to sell the team’s star, Roberto Firmino, in the upcoming winter transfer period.

The Cup Castle's desire to get rid of the Brazilian player comes after his failure so far to provide the hoped-for addition and the not-so-good relationship he enjoys with coach Matthias Jaissle.

According to the report, Al-Ahli management began looking for a way out for the former Liverpool player, whether by joining one of the Rushen League teams or returning to Europe and South America.

Al-Shabab Club appears as a potential destination for Firmino in the winter, in light of a proposed exchange deal from Hattan Bahbari, the Lions star.

This deal, if completed, may be the nucleus of the proposal made by Al-Fateh coach Slavan Bilic that the major clubs in the Saudi League leave their professional players who do not participate regularly to other clubs, which will benefit everyone.

Firmino, 32, joined Al-Ahli on a free basis last summer after the end of his contract with Liverpool.

Despite his distinguished start by scoring a hat-trick in his first match, he has since failed to score any other goal for Al-Raqi in 14 matches in all tournaments.

Al-Ahli occupies fourth place in the Saudi League standings with 31 points, and was eliminated from the King’s Cup in the round of 16.
