Ronaldo misses Al Duhail game for “age crises”

Al Nassr's squad heading to Doha to face Al Duhail in the AFC Champions League was devoid of Cristiano Ronaldo's name, due to coach Luis Castro's decision.

The Saudi club will meet its Qatari counterpart on Tuesday in the fourth round of the AFC Champions League groups, and if Al-Alami wins, it will ensure qualification to the quarter-finals.

According to Saudi newspaper reports, coach Luis Castro decided to exclude Ronaldo from the Qatar trip for fear of fatigue in light of the huge cohesion of matches this season.

The Portugal international featured in Friday's Al Nassr vs Al Khaleej match, before which he played two league and King’s cup games in less than a week, and at the age of 38 it seemed better for Castro to rest him and manage his schedule better.

Ronaldo was one of the stars of the first leg between Al Nassr and Al Duhail, when he scored twice in Castro's battalion's 4-3 win at the First Park.

Overall, Ronaldo has scored 15 goals and assisted 9 others in 16 appearances for Al Nasr this season in all competitions, and is the top scorer in the Saudi league with 12 goals.
