The match between Al-Nasr and Al-Riyadh in the Saudi League held a historic record for Cristiano Ronaldo, as it was his 1,200th match in his professional football career, which he started with Sporting Lisbon in 2002.

“The Don” succeeded in crowning the 1,200th match with the perfect image, after scoring one goal and assisting another during Al-Nasr’s 2-1 victory and continuing its pursuit of the current leader of the Saudi League, Al-Hilal.

The 38-year-old, despite his advanced age, believes that his journey in football will extend for more time, and this is what he expressed in a post on his official accounts on social networking sites.

Ronaldo wrote, "3 new points... Thank you to my teammates who helped me reach the 1,200th match."

He also added, "What a journey it has been, but it is not over yet."

Ronaldo had previously announced that he dreams of continuing on the field until his son Junior arrives to play alongside him in the first team.

However, the Al-Nasr star sparked controversy about the possibility of him participating in the 2026 World Cup with the Portugal national team due to his thinking about retirement as well.

It remains to be noted that Ronaldo began his career with Sporting Lisbon, where he played 31 matches, then he moved to Manchester United and there he played 346 (over two periods), and Real Madrid was the club he represented the most in his career with 438 matches, in addition to 134 with Juventus and finally 46 with Al-Nasr.

The next record that Ronaldo aspires to break is to become the third most active player in football matches, as only 12 matches separate him from Fabio, who played 1,212 matches in his career, while Peter Shillon occupies first place (1,375 matches).
