Surprise: Al-Hilal offered a billion euros a year and the player did not care!

Lionel Messi's biographer Guillem Balague claimed that Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal gave the Argentine star a legendary offer last summer, but the player never bothered to join the "Al Zaeem".

Messi confirmed after joining Inter Miami that he had received offers from the Saudi league, but preferred to join the United States for many different reasons.

According to Balague in an interview with the Caughtoffside network, a meeting between Crescent officials and representatives of Messi in the French capital, Paris, last summer, and saw an offer of one billion euros a year to contract with the "flea".

The biggest salary currently in the Saudi league goes to Cristiano Ronaldo, who earns 200 million euros a year, followed by Karim Benzema and Neymar by a narrow margin.

Despite the huge figure, Balague revealed that Messi was never interested in a move to Al Hilal, and did not take the offer seriously.

However, if Balague is correct, it seems that the Argentine would have preferred to pursue his own dream of living in the United States than move to Saudi Arabia despite the legendary offer.

Messi quickly made his mark with Inter Miami, after leading the team to win the League Cup, although he then failed to help his team reach the final rounds of the American League.
