The Saudi League continues to attract the best in Europe, and the victim this time is Italy!

The Saudi League continues to attract European football elites, and the latest chapter in the Saudi journey is a huge offer received by Italian referee Daniele Orsato to work full-time in the Roshen League.

Orsato is considered the number one referee in Italy, and one of the elite referees in Europe, so Saudi officials want to bring him to the Roshen League in order to develop the arbitration system, while giving him an astronomical salary that exceeds what he receives from the Italian and European federations.

Tuttosport newspaper reported that the 48-year-old referee received a Saudi offer with a salary twice what he currently receives in order to move to the Rushen League and work as a permanent referee there, provided that he is guaranteed a managerial position after retirement as well.

Orsato is inclined to accept this offer, and to follow the example of former English referee Martin Clattenburg, who also headed to Saudi Arabia at the end of his career and then worked as chairman of the referees’ committee there.

Orsato managed many big matches in his career, as he was present in almost every Italian summit, and he also managed the 2020 Champions League final, which brought together Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

In Saudi Arabia, Orsato previously officiated 5 matches, including the Al Hilal and Al Nassr summit in January 2023.
