The second largest deal in the history of Egyptian football.. Al-Ahly signs new strike

Al-Ahly of Egypt is close to including Wissam Abu Ali, the Swedish Sirius striker, in a deal that will cost the Red Club’s coffers a huge sum.

According to the Swedish Expressen, Al-Ahly will pay 23 million Swedish krona to include Abu Ali, or 2 million euros, which is equivalent to approximately 116 million Egyptian pounds.

Al-Ahly and Sirius agreed on all the details, and Wissam Abu Ali, who holds dual Danish and Palestinian citizenship, is expected to arrive in Cairo on Sunday or Monday to undergo a medical examination and sign contracts.

With this huge number paid, Abu Ali will be the second largest deal in practical terms in Al-Ahly’s history, after Hussein Shahat, for whom $5 million was paid in 2019 and then exceeded the barrier of 120 million Egyptian pounds.

Al-Ahly had made many other huge deals, such as Imam Ashour for 2.5 million euros from Danish club Midtjylland (92 million pounds at the time), but depending on the exchange rate of the Egyptian pound, Abu Ali is the second largest deal in the history of Egyptian football in general.

The 25-year-old is considered one of the most prominent strikers in Sweden recently and has already scored 10 goals in 14 matches this season.

Abu Ali’s transfer to Al-Ahly will be the largest transfer in the history of the Swedish club Sirius.

It is noteworthy that the inclusion of Abu Ali comes after Anthony Modest failed to perform as expected from him, which increased the need for Marcel Kohler’s squad to sign a new striker.
