Al-Ahly settled for a goalless draw with CS Belouizdad, in the match that brought them together for the third round of the African Champions League groups.
The match at Burj Al Arab Stadium is Al-Ahly’s third consecutive stumble in all tournaments, after a goalless draw with Smouha in the Egyptian League and then a 1-1 draw with Young Africans in Tanzania.
Meanwhile, a match between Medeama and Young Africans was held, which also resulted in a draw between the two teams, but with a score of 1-1.
Thus, the group got heated, as Al-Ahly remained in the lead with 5 points, compared to 4 points for Medeama and CS Belouizdad, with 2 points for the bottom of the group, Young Africans.
This draw raises concerns for Al-Ahly fans before entering the Club World Cup, when the winner of Al-Ittihad and Auckland City will face off in the quarter-finals on December 15.
