Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel scoffed at a reporter's question about the possibility of the Bavarian club signing Kylian Mbappe, but indicated that he certainly dreams of signing the Paris Saint-Germain star.

Tuchel worked with Mbappe for two years, when the German was PSG coach and led them to the best European achievement in their history by reaching the Champions League final, which the French club lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich.

Mbappe's contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of this season, and the French star's future remains unknown, with a journalist asking Tuchel if it is possible to see his former player in a Bayern Munich shirt.

Tuchel quipped: "Yes yes, Mbappe is coming for us, it is clear (laughs)."

"He's exceptional, rare, very smart, when he wants something and you don't give it to him, he understands the reason and doesn't get angry."

" We have a very good relationship, if he wants to come to Bayern, I'll go and get him on a bike, but I don't think that's going to happen."

Paris Saint-Germain had announced through its president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that talks to renew Mbappe's contract are ongoing, while Spanish newspapers said that Real Madrid dismissed the signing of the 24-year-old.

Bayern Munich have never shown any prospect of signing Mbappe, given his whopping €35m a year salary that is not in line with the Bavarian club's salary scale, and Tuchel seems to have killed any prospect by confirming that the player is unlikely to be included in the Allianz Arena.
