Al Hilal succeeded in securing qualification to the round of 16 of the AFC Champions League following its victory over Uzbekistan's Navbahor at the Central Stadium with a score of 2-0 in the fifth round of the group stage.
The match witnessed a strange incident, as Salem Al-Dosari missed two penalty kicks, the first in the first half and the second in the 68th minute of the second half.
Fortunately for Salem, the second missed penalty kick, after it was saved by the Navbakhor goalkeeper, found the follow-up of substitute Malcolm, who put it into the net, announcing the lead goal for the Blue Wave.
Al-Dossari played favor with Al-Hilal fans in the 86th minute after scoring the second goal, announcing the qualification of the Georgie Jesus battalion to the round of 16.
With this result, Al Hilal’s balance reached 13 points at the top of the group standings, 3 points ahead of Navbahor, with its superiority over the Uzbek club on goal difference and direct confrontations, ensuring qualification from the first place gate.
Al-Ain, Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad also all secured qualification to the round of 16 of the Champions League.
The note remains that Al Hilal awaits a hot match on Friday with Al Nassr in the Riyadh derby at King Fahd International Stadium.
