Mitrovic celebrating his victory over Al-Taei

Al-Hilal defeated Al-Taei 2-1 in the sixteenth round of the Saudi League

Salem Al-Dosari opened the scoring for Al-Hilal in the 20th minute, then Alexander Mitrovic won a penalty kick, then converted it into the net.

This was the Serbian international’s 14th goal this season in the Saudi League, reducing the gap with leader Cristiano Ronaldo to one goal before “The Don” plays the match between Al-Nasr and Riyadh in a few hours.

Mitrovic also wrote history with this goal, as he became the first Al Hilal player to score one or more goals in 7 consecutive matches in the Saudi League since 2012, when Brazilian Wesley achieved this.

Al-Tai returned to the match in the last minute of the first half with a goal from Tariq Abdullah, which broke a series of clean sheets by Yassine Bounou that extended throughout the month of November. However, his team failed to come back and come out with a point against Al-Zaeem.

With this result, Al-Hilal reached point 44 and temporarily raised the difference with Al-Nasr to 10 points, while Al-Taei froze its score at point 17 in 12th place.
