In the past few hours, statements said to have been made by Marcelo, a Fluminense player, in which he expressed his happiness at facing Al-Ahly instead of Al-Ittihad in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup, sparked great anger among the fans of the Egyptian club towards the Real Madrid legend.

The Red Giants succeeded in eliminating the home team, Al-Ittihad, after beating them 3-1 at the Radiant Jewel Stadium in the quarter-finals.

The widespread statement by Marcelo, captain of Fluminense, said: “I felt comfortable after the exclusion of Fabinho, Benzema and Kante. I do not underestimate Al-Ahly because it is a difficult team. We did not come here for third place, and the obstacle in the tournament is Manchester City.”

After searching all websites and newspapers, and listening to Marcelo's interview with FIFA, it became clear that the Brazilian international did not make such statements.

At the same time, the "Botalat" website contacted Fluminense, who denied that their left-back had made these statements.

The Brazilian club stated in its interview with the Egyptian website, "These statements did not come from Marcelo. Marcelo always respects his opponents, as well as the principles of our club Fluminense. It is impossible for him to make such statements. I do not know what their source is."

It is noteworthy that Fluminense is participating for the first time in its history in the Club World Cup, while Marcelo has previously won the title 5 previous times with Real Madrid.
