Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp announced that his team will lose the efforts of Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota for what may be a relatively long period due to injury.

The duo participated in the Reds' match against Manchester City last Saturday, and after the match it was announced that she had suffered an injury without revealing its nature and the expected length of absence.

Klopp spoke at the press conference on Wednesday for the match against LASK in the Europa League, saying, “They are both out of the match. Alisson’s injury is somewhat less serious. He will most likely be absent for a while. He will not be there next week and perhaps the week after that. We will see what happens.”

He also added, speaking about Jota, "Diogo will be absent for a longer period. We do not know exactly how long it will be, but it will be longer than Alisson. We will see how he recovers."

Liverpool is awaiting a number of important matches in the next stage. After facing LASK, it will play against Fulham, Sheffield and Crystal Palace locally, then it will meet Saint-Geloise at the end of the group stage of the Europa League.

Klopp hopes to have Alisson back at least before the most important match against Manchester United at Anfield, scheduled for next December 17, followed by another fiery summit against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

It is noteworthy that Liverpool occupies second place in the English Premier League standings, one point behind leaders Arsenal, and also leads its group in the Europa League with 9 points, and a victory over LASK will officially guarantee qualification to the round of 16 play-offs.
