After a dramatic match.. Zamalek beats Pyramids and faces Al Ahly in Egyptian cup final


Zamalek achieved a thrilling victory over Pyramids on penalties 4-3 after a draw in the full time 3-3, in the match that was held at Cairo International Stadium in the semi-finals of the Egyptian Cup.


Pyramids managed to realize the lead early through Feston Miley in the third minute.


Zamalek tried a lot to comeback, and both teams wasted a large number of goals achieved, but one of the tiebreakers in the match was the expulsion of Ahmed Tawfik in the 79th minute after receiving a second yellow card.


In the last minute of the match, Nabil Imad Dunga was able to make it 1-1- by a header, which led to extra time to resolve the winner.


In extra time, Pyramids took the lead again through Mostafa Fathi, but Zamalek returned again, but this time through substitute Samson Aquinola.


For the third time, Pyramids succeeded in progressing, this time by Mohamed Hamdi, but Nasser Mansi's header in the 112th minute returned Zamalek to the match, and with it the two teams were forced to take penalties.


Mohamed Awad succeeded in saving the penalties of Ahmed Sami and Mustafa Fathi, to win Zamalek 4-3 and qualify for the final.


Zamalek will hit a date with his eternal rival, Al Ahly, after the red genie beat ENPPI in the semi-finals.


So far, the Egyptian Football Association has not set a date for the upcoming match.
