Al-Ahly fails to untie the semi-final knot and bids farewell to the Club World Cup from Fluminense

Al-Ahly failed to overcome the obstacle of Fluminense, and lost 2-0 in the semi-finals of the 2023 Club World Cup at the Radiant Jewel Stadium.


The only goal of the match came from Jahon Arias in the 71st minute from a penalty kick, after wasting many opportunities by the Brazilian club.


In the last minute, while Al-Ahly was trying to score the equalizer, John Kennedy succeeded in scoring the second goal and killing Al-Ahmar's hopes of reaching the final.


This is the sixth time that Al-Ahly has qualified for the semi-finals of the Club World Cup and then failed to reach the final.


Al-Ahly will wait for the loser of the match between Manchester City and Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan on Tuesday, to face him on Friday in the third and fourth place match.


Al-Ahly achieved fourth place in the last Club World Cup in Morocco, and historically it succeeded in achieving third place 3 previous times.
