An unexpected reason behind De Zerbi's apology after Brighton's quadruple at Tottenham

Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi apologized to his team's fans despite achieving a 4-2 victory over Tottenham.

In the press conference after the end of the match, while the Italian coach expressed his happiness with this victory, he made clear his disappointment with his team conceding two goals.

He also added in this regard, "I feel sorry that we were unable to keep a clean sheet. I apologize because we conceded two goals."

At the same time, De Zerbi spoke about this victory by saying, “We played a great match and succeeded amazingly in defending man-to-man. Throughout the match we were very bold and efficient. It is the best way to end the year.”

He concluded, "I am lucky to be the coach of this team with this group of wonderful players."

Brighton reached point 30 in the English Premier League standings, and thus became in eighth place, only 12 points behind leaders Liverpool.

It is noteworthy that Brighton, under the leadership of De Zerbi, succeeded in reaching the European League for the first time in its history, and quickly left its mark in the continental competition after it succeeded in skipping the group stage and reaching the round of 16.
