Arnold's goal saves Liverpool from Manchester City's trap and ignites Premier League

Liverpool tied with its host Manchester City, 1-1, in the match that brought them together at Etihad Stadium in the opening of the 13th round of the English Premier League.

The opening goal for Pep Guardiola's squad came through Erling Haaland in the 27th minute, before Trent Alexander-Arnold succeeded in adjusting in the 80th minute.

The advantage may have been clear for City in particular in the first half, with more than one missed opportunity, and Liverpool gradually began to remedy the situation in the second half until it succeeded in adjusting and coming away with a valuable point from the Etihad Stadium.

With this draw, Jurgen Klopp continued his superiority over Guardiola, as the German coach won 12 matches against the Spanish philosopher, compared to only 11 victories for Pep, while the duo tied in 6 matches.

Mohamed Salah participated in the match from the beginning, and he was the one who created the equalizer for the Reds, even though he did not perform as expected of him against his favorite opponent in terms of scoring against his own net.

With this tie, the race for the top spot in the English Premier League heats up in every sense of the word, with Manchester City reaching 29 points in first place, followed by Liverpool in second place with 27 points.

If Arsenal succeeds in winning this evening over Brentford, it can regain the top spot in the Premier League by reaching point 30, and Tottenham can also occupy second place, equal to City, if it wins over Aston Villa on Sunday.
