Arsenal loses Raya to Brentford due to a “clause” in his loan contract!

Spanish goalkeeper David Raya will not participate in his current team Arsenal's game against his former team Brentford on Saturday in the English Premier League.

Raya joined the Gunners last summer on a one-year loan with the right to buy to the London club, and succeeded in becoming Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper and removing Aaron Ramsdale from his seat.

But Ramsdale will return again to protect Arsenal's den in the English Premier League, due to a clause in Raya's loan from Brentford, which prohibits him from participating against his former team.

This condition was famous for the clubs of the English Premier League and the Spanish League, but it has decreased greatly in recent years, but it appears again in the mini-London derby, which will be held next Saturday.

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta confirmed that Ramsdale will be the one who will guard his team's goal against Brentford, in the pre-match press conference on Friday evening.

Ramsdale's participation will be his first in the English Premier League with Arsenal since participating in the 2-1 victory over Manchester United last September 3, and since then he has remained confined to the bench with Raya succeeding in establishing himself as the main goalkeeper for Arteta's squad.

In total, Ramsdale participated this season with Arsenal in 7 matches, 4 in the English Premier League, 2 in the Carabao Cup and another in the Community Shield, and only twice succeeded in getting a clean sheet.

It is noteworthy that, according to all English newspapers, Arsenal will buy Raya's contract from Brentford next summer for 27.5 million pounds sterling.
