Arsenal takes the lead in Premier League thanks to a rare goal by Havertz

Arsenal was able to claim top spot in the English Premier League following a 1-0 victory over Brentford in the thirteenth round of the competition.

Before this match, Manchester City tied with Liverpool with a goal each, so the Gunners only need to win by any result and take first place for the first time this season.

Arsenal wasted a barrage of opportunities until they finally had the opportunity in the 89th minute to score the goal through Kai Havertz, who scored his first official goal for the London club.

This match was historic for coach Mikel Arteta, as it was his 200th match in charge of Arsenal since taking charge in 2020.

In addition to the fact that the victory put Arsenal at the top of the English Premier League, it has special value for Arteta as it is the 116th in his career with the London club, while historical coach Arsene Wenger, in the first 200 matches, won only 111 matches.

The top spot in the Premier League is now in the hands of Arsenal with 30 points, one point ahead of Manchester City, and Tottenham can share second place with Pep Guardiola’s squad if it wins on Sunday over Aston Villa.
