Arteta furious after Arsenal loss to Newcastle: Shame on refereeing!

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has attacked the referee of his side's match with Newcastle, saying he was the cause of the Gunners' first defeat of the season in the Premier League.

The video technology acknowledged Anthony Gordon's goal, which decided the match in favor of the Eddie Howe men after a very big controversy and a review of 3 different cases within the main ball, which sparked wide controversy.

After the game, Arteta told the BBC: "The result shouldn't be like this, what happened was a real shame."

He also continued his fierce attack on refereeing: "What happened is embarrassing for everyone, how is a goal like this counted in the Premier League? ".

"We say about this league that it is the best in the world, I have lived in this country for 20 years, and today after this refereeing case I am really ashamed."

"Arsenal were looking for a win today on the pitch, we deserved to win."

Arsenal's defeat saw them 3 points clear of interim leaders Manchester City, and if Tottenham beat Chelsea on Monday, Spurs will regain the lead and 5 points ahead of their neighbours.
