Big surprises in the Saudi national team's initial roster for the 2023 Asian Cup

Roberto Mancini sparked great controversy after announcing the preliminary Saudi national team roster that will participate in the 2023 Asian Cup.

The Italian coach excluded many big names, led by Salman Al-Faraj, the star of Al-Hilal, and the duo Muhammad Al-Breik and Yasser Al-Shahrani.

In addition to the other names, there is a sudden absence of Muhammad Al-Majhid, Sultan Al-Ghannam, and Abdul-Ilah Al-Amiri, in addition to Sami Al-Khaibari.

But in the future, Mancini included other young names, represented by the rapidly rising star with Al-Ittihad, Faisal Al-Ghamdi.

Mancini's list included 30 names, with 3 names being excluded, so that the final list includes 27 names, including 3 goalkeepers, according to the rules of the Asian Football Confederation.
