Determine Manchester City's opponent in the Club World Cup semi-finals

Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds reached the semi-finals of the Club World Cup after defeating Club Lyon 1-0 in the match held at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium.

The only goal of the match came from Alex Schalke in the 78th minute, making the Asian champions successful in reaching the semi-finals.

Urawa Reds will wait for Manchester City in the next round, in the match scheduled for next Tuesday at the Radiant Jewel Stadium.

This is the third participation in the history of Urawa Reds in the Club World Cup, the first was in 2007, during which they succeeded in achieving third place after beating Esperance of Tunisia.

As for the second participation in 2017, it finished in fifth place after beating Moroccan Wydad.

Now the Japanese club that stripped Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia of the AFC Champions League title will have to face City armed with its stars, led by Erling Haaland, whose position on participating in the match remains ambiguous due to injury.

It is noteworthy that the other semi-final in the Club World Cup will bring together Fluminense and the winner of the match between Al-Ahly of Egypt and Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia.
