Did Bruno Fernandes deliberately “escape” from the Manchester United-Liverpool match?

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes will miss the Anfield match

Michael Owen, Liverpool legend and former Manchester United player, sparked controversy over Bruno Fernandes by saying that he deliberately escaped from the upcoming confrontation between the Reds and the Red Devils next week.

Bruno received a yellow card for dissent during United's 3-0 loss to Bournemouth, confirming his absence from the Anfield match due to the accumulation of cards.

Because of this, Owen said in statements to the Daily Mail: “How many times has Bruno received a yellow card for objecting and waving at the referees? He should realize the responsibility and be a good leader for his team.”

He also added, "Maybe he doesn't want to go to Anfield, I don't know, but I think it's difficult to think about the next match when you're already in the middle of a match."

He concluded, "Bruno received many yellow cards for dissent. This is a huge number for a player who rarely makes mistakes on the field. This should change."

United's last visit to Anfield was a disaster by all standards, as it suffered a crushing 7-0 defeat in the English Premier League last season.

Bruno is the player who has played the most this season for United, and is the first captain of the Red Devils in the modest season presented by Erik ten Hag's squad.

United ranks sixth in the Premier League standings with 27 points, while Liverpool is at the top of the competition with 37 points.
