EFA announces the date of Egyptian cup’s final between Al-Ahly and Zamalek



The Egyptian Football Association, through the Chairman of the Competitions Committee, Amer Hussein, announced the date of the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match in the 2023 Egypt Cup final.


Al Ahly qualified first to the final match following a sweeping victory over ENPPI 3-0, before Zamalek followed by beating Pyramids on penalties 4-3 after the end of the full time and extra time with a 3-3 draw.


According to Amer Hussein's announcement, the final of the Egyptian Cup is scheduled to be held on March 13, 2024, and as usual it will be held at Cairo International Stadium.


Hussein also stressed that the Football Association will do its best to fill the stadium stands to the brim with fans of the two teams, by contacting the Ministry of Interior early and agreeing on the largest capacity that can be secured.


This final will be the 20th between Al Ahly and Zamalek in the Egypt Cup, where the red genie succeeded in winning 9 previous finals, while the White Knight won 7, and the cup was shared between the poles in two times.


It is noteworthy that the last cup final between Al-Ahly and Zamalek dates back to the 2021 edition, and they met in July 2022 at Cairo International Stadium, where Zamalek won 2-1 and achieved the 28th title in its history.


It should be noted that Al Ahly are the reigning champions of the Egyptian Cup after beating Pyramids in the 2022 edition, and the Red Club is the most crowned champion in history with 38 titles.
