“Good news” for Arsenal after the loss to Fulham and despite the disastrous series of numbers!

Arsenal failed to maintain its lead against Fulham, and was defeated 2-1, in the match held at Craven Cottage Stadium in the 20th round of the English Premier League.

The Gunners took the lead in the fifth minute through Bukayo Saka, but Fulham equalized in the 29th minute through Raul Jimenez, and the winning goal for the hosts came in the 59th minute through Bobby Decordova Reid.

With this result, Arsenal lost the opportunity to end 2023 in first place in the English Premier League, and perhaps it is “good news” for Bukayo Saka’s teammates.

The last three times Arsenal succeeded in being at the top of the English Premier League at the end of the year, they lost the title, most recently in last season’s edition.

Mikel Arteta's team's points tally froze at 40 points, in fourth place, equal to Manchester City, and two points behind the leading duo, Liverpool and Aston Villa, with the Reds superior on goal difference.

There is a series of bad numbers for Arsenal with the defeat against Fulham, the most important of which is that it is the first defeat for the London club against its neighbor in the Premier League since January 2012, and it is also the first defeat for the Gunners after leading the score in 49 matches.

For the first time since last May, Arsenal lost two matches in a row. The Gunners lost another London derby to West Ham a few days ago at the Emirates Stadium.
