Manchester City star Haaland will attend the Club World Cup

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola confirmed that Erling Haaland will participate in a large proportion of the Club World Cup after recovering from his injury.

The Norwegian international missed the matches between Luton Town and Red Star in the English Premier League and the Champions League due to a strain in his foot.

There were some reports that the 23-year-old might also miss the Club World Cup due to this injury, which Guardiola confirmed would not happen.

The Spanish coach said in press statements, “It is possible that Haaland will return to training on Thursday. We will see what happens.”

He also added, "I don't know how ready he is for the Crystal Palace match. Maybe I will find out and I will inform the press on Friday."

Given the Spanish coach's statements, Haaland will be fit to play the semi-final match of the Club World Cup next Monday against the winner of the match between Club Lyon and Urawa Reds, at the Radiant Jewel Stadium in Saudi Arabia.

Haaland has never participated in the Club World Cup, and is seeking to open his scoring record there, while Cristiano Ronaldo remains the competition's all-time top scorer with 7 goals in 4 appearances with Real Madrid and Manchester United.
