Guardiola heralds Ronaldo as top scorer in 2023

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola confirmed that his team's star Erling Haaland will most likely not be present in the next Sheffield United match due to injury.

Haaland will miss the English club in the last 6 matches due to a muscle strain, and although Guardiola previously announced that the absence would not last, he returned and confirmed that the pain is still haunting the Norwegian star.

In his statements, the Spanish coach revealed that Haaland has not yet recovered from the injury, and therefore it is unlikely that he will be with City before the new year.

The player who is most happy with this news is Cristiano Ronaldo, as he has secured the title of top scorer in the world in 2023.

The Sheffield United match was Haaland's last chance to equal or surpass Ronaldo and become the world's top scorer, as it was his team's last match in 2023.

But in his absence, Ronaldo becomes the world's top scorer with 53 goals, ahead of Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe, who scored 52 goals, while Haaland scored 51 goals.

Ronaldo can increase his scoring output when he faces Al-Nassr, his counterpart, Al-Taawoun, on December 30th.
