Pep Guardiola, Manchester City coach

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City coach, revealed that he may retire from coaching at the end of the current season if he succeeds in achieving the treble with his club again.

The Spanish coach's statements came after the 1-0 defeat his team suffered from Aston Villa, which caused it to fall to fourth place, 6 points behind the Premier League leader, Arsenal.

Speaking to Amazon Prime, Guardiola said: “I will retire from coaching if we achieve the treble this season, but we know that this is very difficult given the presence of many strong clubs in England.”

He also added, "No one achieved the treble except Manchester United with Sir Alex Ferguson and us last season. We feel that we will do it again."

He concluded, "We realize that it is not easy and no one has achieved this achievement yet, but we believe in our ability to achieve this achievement."

City qualified for the round of 16 in the Champions League, and will meet Huddersfield Town in the third round of the FA Cup, but was eliminated from the Carabao Cup in the first round by Newcastle.

It is noteworthy that Manchester City lost the opportunity to achieve the historic sextet, which only Barcelona and Bayern Munich have historically achieved, after losing the Charity Shield title to Arsenal on penalties.
