Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said that he must show how good he is as a coach in the coming period in order to put things back on track at Etihad Stadium after a series of stumbles in the recent period.

City suffered its third defeat this season in the Premier League, at the hands of Aston Villa, with a score of 1-0, in one of the worst matches of the Premier League title holders in the Guardiola era.

This defeat came after two disappointing draws against Liverpool and Tottenham, widening the gap between Manchester City and the leader of the English Premier League, Arsenal, to 6 points.

During the press conference for the City and Luton Town match, Guardiola spoke about the gloating of other clubs over City's downfall, saying, "I think what we are experiencing now is good for everyone. We have to adapt to that because for a long time people have always talked about us being very good."

He also added, "We were unbeatable, and now we cannot win a single match. This is what I feel in important moments."

Pep considered himself responsible for the current situation, and added, "Maybe I have to show first that I am a good coach. It is a good challenge for the players as well."

He concluded, "Aston Villa was miles away from us, and now perhaps we are the ones who do not qualify for the Champions League."

Before the start of the sixteenth round of the Premier League, Manchester City is in fourth place with 30 points, while Aston Villa is third with 32 points.
