Guardiola: My chances of staying with Manchester City are greater if we relegated!

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola responded to newspaper questions about his possible concern about the possibility of imposing strong sanctions on the English club that would lead to its relegation to the first division due to violating the rules of financial fair play.

Everton was subjected to a 10-point deduction for violating the rules only once, while Manchester City has 115 incidents being investigated, and the Premier League title holder may end up with a more severe penalty, represented by relegation to the first division.

But for Guardiola, this means nothing, as he said in the press conference for the Liverpool match, “I know that people want to punish Manchester City, I see and feel that, but wait, the club is innocent so far.”

He also added, "Wait until the final decision is issued, and then we will come here and explain everything to you."

He continued, "115 incidents? This did not change my opinion about anything. The Everton incident is completely different from ours."

He concluded in this regard by saying, “But I certainly will not think about my future if it depends on being here in the English Premier League or being in the First Division. Certainly, there is more chance of staying if we are in the First Division than if we are in the Champions League.”

Guardiola's contract with Manchester City extends until the summer of 2025, and it is most likely that if he leaves coaching the English club, he will head to coach one of the national teams, as was announced earlier.
