Guardiola raises concern over when De Bruyne and Stones will return to Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has refused to give a specific date for John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne to return to his team.

De Bruyne has been sidelined for Manchester City since being injured in the Premier League opener against Burnley in August, while Stones was injured in Young Boys' last Champions League game.

The Premier League champions are preparing to play Chelsea on Sunday, and during the press conference Guardiola was asked about the condition of his players, to which he replied: "Stones? The doctor told me it wasn't as bad as I thought, but he's not ready for the Chelsea game."

As for Kevin De Bruyne, "I spoke to him two days ago and he says he's doing well, but so far he doesn't train with us and doesn't run much, it's better not to press in this kind of injury."

After returning from the international break, City will host Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 25 November, and for Guardiola, Stones and De Bruyne's position on catching this match remains unknown.

The Spaniard concluded his speech in this regard by saying, "I do not know if Stones will join us in Liverpool match or not, and we do not want to rush with De Bruyne, we are walking with him step by step."

Manchester City lead the Premier League standings by a point from Tottenham Hotspur before visiting Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the last game before the international break.
