Hannibal confirms that he was the one who refused to join Tunisia in the African Nations

Hannibal Mejbri, the Manchester United player, admitted that he was the one who apologized for not being with the Tunisia national team in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The “Carthage Eagles” list did not contain the name of the United star, despite him being an integral part of it since his first participation in June 2021.

Jalal Al-Qadiri, the Tunisian national team, announced that Hannibal was in his plans, but the player himself requested not to be present.

Hannibal commented on this through a tweet on the X website in which he wrote: “Thank you to coach Jalal Al Qadri and the Football Association for their support. You can only participate in such competitions when you are prepared and calm.”

The United star continued, "All the best to my teammates in the Tunisian national team. We will achieve this championship."

It is clear that Hannibal is well aware that the winter transfer period is a good opportunity for him to leave the United bench for another club.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, United will renew the Tunisian's contract and then send him on loan to a club until the end of the current season.

The 21-year-old only participated in 10 matches, most of them as a substitute, with the Red Devils this season.

The player’s talk about readiness, and most importantly calmness, clearly explains that he is seeking to find a new club that will give him confidence and with it he can then return to participate with Tunisia, instead of the Old Trafford substitutes’ bench.
