Harry Maguire, Manchester United defender, won the Player of the Month award in November in the English Premier League competition.
The 30-year-old beat out Jeremy Doku (Manchester City), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle), Tomas Kaminski (Luton), Raheem Sterling (Chelsea), and Marcus Tavernier (Bournemouth) in voting for the best award last month.
Maguire was part of 3 important victories achieved by the Red Devils in the Premier League in November against Fulham, Luton Town and Everton, as he succeeded in securing a clean sheet for United in all of them over the course of the 270 minutes he played.
The award comes after a very difficult period that Maguire spent during which he was subjected to a lot of criticism and ridicule. He also lost the United leadership armband at the beginning of this season to his colleague Bruno Fernandes by decision of coach Erik ten Hag.
However, Maguire credited his teammates for winning the Player of the Month award in the English Premier League, as he said in his statements after winning the award, “It would not have been possible for me to achieve this award without my teammates, the technical staff and the fans.”
He also added, "The love and support I get from all of them is never in vain. I appreciate that very much."
Pat Maguire is the 17th defender in history to win the Player of the Month award in the English Premier League, and he is also the third defender in United's history to win the award after the historic duo Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Matic.
