History makes Arsenal champion of the Champions League thanks to its quadruple in Lens!

Arsenal led Lens by 5-0 goals in the first half of their match at the Emirates Stadium in the penultimate round of the Champions League groups.

Kai Havertz scored Arsenal's first goal in the 13th minute, then the second goal came from Gabriel Jesus in the 21st minute, Bukayo Saka in the 23rd minute, then Gabriel Martinelli in the 27th minute, and the fifth goal came from Martin Odegaard in the last minute of the half.

The London club became the fastest club in the history of English clubs to score 4 goals in a Champions League match, after its quadruple in Lens within 27 minutes, equal to Manchester United, which achieved the same number in 1998 against Brondby of Denmark.

Achieving United’s historic record may be a good omen for Mikel Arteta’s squad that it will become the champion of the Old Continent this season. When Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad achieved it at the time, it won the Champions League at the expense of Bayern Munich in the famous Camp Nou final.

United's season did not stop there, as the Red Devils also achieved the historic treble, which no English team succeeded in repeating except Manchester City last season.

On a related note, Arsenal became the first English team in the history of the Champions League to score 5 goals in the first half, and also became the first team in the history of the competition in general to be scored by 5 different players in the first half.

It remains to be noted that Arsenal is ranked in the English Premier League, one point ahead of the defending champion, City, and also secured its qualification to the round of 16 of the Champions League with this victory over Lens, and has not yet begun its campaign in the FA Cup.
