Manchester United came back from a two-goal deficit, achieving a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa, in the match that brought them together at Old Trafford in the 19th round of the English Premier League.

Aston Villa took the lead with two goals in the first half, through John McGinn in the 21st minute and Leander Dendoncker in the 26th minute, making everyone think that a new defeat was inevitably coming for Erik ten Hag's squad.

But the Red Devils rose up in the second half, led by Alejandro Garnacho, who scored two goals in the 59th and 71st minutes, leveling the score, until Rasmus Hoyland succeeded in giving United victory with the third goal in the 82nd minute.

This victory comes after 4 consecutive stumbles for United, with losses to Bournemouth, Bayern Munich, and West Ham, and a draw with Liverpool. During those matches, the team did not succeed in scoring any goals.

However, when it came to the Aston Villa match, United continued their “Boxing Day” history, which is to remain unbeaten in that period for the previous 44 years when playing at Old Trafford.

Since the 1978-1979 season, United have won 16 matches and drawn 3 when they played at their stadium on Boxing Day, and it seems that the spirit of this festive day was enough for this special remontada against Aston Villa.

Three valuable points were gained by the Ten Hag squad, raising United's score to 31 points in sixth place, while Aston Villa's score froze at 39 points in third place.
