Klopp after loss to Toulouse: The result is bad and the performance is worse

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp attributed his team's surprise defeat from Toulouse to his team's poor performance in the Europa League group match.

Although Liverpool won the first leg at Anfield 5-1, the French club surprised the English club and beat it 3-2 and stopped it from qualifying for the play-offs of the round of 16 in a match that witnessed great refereeing controversy.

The Reds scored the equaliser in the last minute, but after returning to VAR the referee ruled out the goal due to a hand touch.

Klopp said: "I saw the video of the shot again and for me it wasn't a hand ball, but how can I decide that? ".

"The ball went to the chest, I didn't see it touched his hand to be honest, and we had another penalty that didn't count."

"We gave everything possible but we had to decide in time and not concede the goals we conceded, we conceded a lot of goals today and that's not good," the German coach said.

"In fact I'm more concerned about the fact that we could have played better today, that's what matters most to me, the result wasn't good, and so was the performance."

Liverpool are still at the top of their group with 9 points, followed by Toulouse in second place with 7 points, followed by Saint-Giloise with 4 points and LASK Linz with 3 points.
