Marcel Koller opens fire on the rulers of Africa: what they do is a mystery to me!

Al Ahly coach Marcel Koller attacked the referee of his team's match against Sundowns, wondering that he did not return to VAR in the footage of the Red Club's claim for a penalty in the final minutes.

Al Ahly suffered another defeat from Sundowns in South Africa, this time 1-0, to continue the yellow club contract for Koller, who was unable to achieve any victory in front of him in 3 confrontations in less than a year.

The Swiss coach spoke to the media after the match, attacking the referee, saying: "We deserved a clear penalty, it seems that the referees in Africa do not communicate enough with VAR, and this is a mystery for me, and we lost a lot of games because of it."

As for his assessment of the level of Al Ahli in the match, he said, "The performance was balanced in the first half, especially in defense, unfortunately we conceded the goal in the second half as a result of a mistake in a pass from us, and then the match returned balanced again between the two teams."

"We know Sundowns are one of the strongest teams in Africa but we will do everything we can to win and reach the final."

"Our chances are still there and we will give everything we have in the second leg, we will prepare for the match well and I am confident that the fans will fill the stadium."

Al Ahly will meet Sundowns on Wednesday 1 November, with the match to be held at Cairo International Stadium in attendance between 30,000 and 50,000 spectators.
