Mutual praise between Guardiola and Klopp before the Manchester City-Liverpool summit

A hug between the coaches of Liverpool, Manchester City Club and Guardiola

Pep Guardiola considered that facing Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp in recent years made him a better coach, while the German coach said that Manchester City is the best team in the world.

The two teams are preparing to face each other next Saturday evening at Al-Ittihad Stadium, and during the two press conferences for the match, the two coaches spoke positively about the other, as is their custom in past years.

Starting with Guardiola, who said about facing Klopp, “He made me better. A large part of my career was him and his teams (Liverpool and Dortmund) being strong competitors for us.”

He also added, "Liverpool is a great and great team, no doubt, and our matches against them were always good and had an attractive and positive approach."

For his part, Klopp spoke about Guardiola and Manchester City, saying, "Manchester City is the strongest team in the world over the past few years. It will be a difficult match, and our numbers are not the best at Etihad Stadium."

He concluded, "If they were comfortable in their play, no team would have a chance. It seems that we have come a little closer this season, but we need to win decisive battles on the field."

It is noteworthy that Klopp is the coach who has won the most wins over Guardiola in his career, as he won against him 12 times with Liverpool and Dortmund, compared to 11 times for the Spanish philosopher, while draws prevailed in 5 confrontations out of a total of 28 matches between the coaches.

Manchester City enters the match against the Reds this season at the top of the English Premier League standings, one point behind the Klopp battalion, which lost 4-1 in its last visit to the Etihad Stadium last season.
