Nuno Santo is back... a historic defeat for United against Nottingham Forest

Manchester United suffered a new defeat, this time at the City Ground, from Nottingham Forest, with a score of 2-1, in the 20th round of the English Premier League competitions.

The defeat comes a few days after a historic remontage carried out by the Red Devils against Aston Villa, which made everyone think that things were on their way back to the right path at Old Trafford.

However, United did not provide the desired match, and suffered its first defeat after 11 matches of absolute superiority over Nottingham Forest, including winning 4 previous matches this year.

In general, this is the second victory in the history of Nottingham Forest over Manchester United throughout the history of the English Premier League, after a single victory in the early 1990s.

Nicolas Dominguez gave Nottingham the lead in the 64th minute, then Marcus Rashford equalized for the visitors in the 78th minute, before Morgan Gibbs-White scored the winning goal for the hosts in the 82nd minute.

This defeat is the ninth defeat suffered by Manchester United in the English Premier League this season, a number that is not in line with the huge amount of spending and the quality of coach Erik ten Hag’s squad.

At the same time, this is the second victory for Nuno Santo after taking charge of coaching Nottingham Forest, after beating Newcastle last round with a score of 3-1 at St. James Park.

With this result, United ended the year 2023 by occupying seventh place in the Premier League standings with only 31 points, compared to 20 points for Nottingham in 15th place.
